Tour Description
This is the best tour to experience the outback way of life and the magnificient Carnarvon Gorge. This tour suits nearly everyone including families. Carnarvon Gorge is a spectacular gorge system of cool rainforest, mosses, ferns and creeks and is situated on the dividing range 720km west of Brisbane.
The gorge boasts some of Australia’s best Aboriginal rock art and there are over 20 km of walking tracks that gives us access to these amazing rock art sites as well as waterfalls, rock pools, amphitheatres, caves and majestic lookouts.
This 5 day outback explorer tour departs from Brisbane on a Monday morning aboard our luxury minibus and returns on Friday evening. We can also pick up passengers at Toowomba, Dalby and Roma.
Included in this tour is a 2 night farm stay at a homestead on a Arcadia Valley cattle property, calmly nestled between the Expedition and Carnarvon Ranges. Here you will sample the outback way of life, taste camp oven dinners and encounter the abundant wildlife.
This tour is suitable for all ages, the walking is easy and the scenery is spectacular.
On our 3rd night we camp remotely in the Gorge on the meandering Carnarvon creek beneath the stars. On our last night we stay in safari cabins at the Takarakka camping reserve.
Each days walking is easy and on graded tracks exploring the parks many sights including the Moss Garden, the Art Gallery and Cathedral Cave to name a few. The wildlife is plentiful and varied and there are over 170 species of birdlife.
