TOUR DESCRIPTION
SIZZLING HOT SUMMER SPECIAL RATE - $79.00
Today is all about Tasmania’s No. 1 Tourist Destination – Port Arthur Historic Site.
We have an itinerary packed with highlights from Tasmania's stunning Tasman Peninsula - an original and spectacular tour delivered by your experts in Day Tour travel - Active Tours Tasmania.
The Tasman Peninsula is home to Australia’s highest sea cliffs and we experience the drama and magnificence of these with a visit to Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen before beginning a short, easy but incredibly stunning cliff top walk via Paterson’s Arch to Waterfall Bay. The perfect introduction and invigorating way to begin our action packed day.
Once at Port Arthur Historic Site you will have around 4 hours to explore the site, discover the sense of isolation experienced by the convicts amongst the grim and violent history of the early Australian Penal system. Your entrance includes a guided walking tour and a short harbour cruise around the Isle of the Dead.
On the journey back to Hobart, we stop to sample the local chocolate at Federation Chocolate Factory. We stop at the beautiful Historic Township of Richmond Village with time to meander the streets and walk across a hand built convict bridge. Last but not least, before we re-enter Hobart we stop for a beautiful vista of the city and beyond at a local lookout.
